HOW BETON BAUEN COMBAT CARBON...

The concrete repair & protection industry is inherently sustainable, as we are focused on repairing & protecting existing assets, rather than demolishing and creating new infrastructure. However, we have a lot to do to improve!

Beton Bauen delivers innovative concrete repair, strengthening, protection and maintenance solutions, providing our clients with the opportunity to return their assets to full capacity and extend their working life. Beton Bauen is determined to lessen our carbon footprint and plans to do so through internal procedures and processes, correct choice of products and materials, plus continued investment of modern non-fossil powered plant and equipment. 

 

We now use a range of CO2 Fully Offset products by Mapei as our preferred choice for mortars and grouting. Notably many industry material manufacturers are now looking to introduce similar eco-thinking product ranges over the next few years.

GOING 
ELECTRIC

Beton Bauen has already invested heavily in non-fossil fuel commercial vehicles and aims to continually switch our fleet from diesel powered vans and cars to electric models, as and when they reach the end of their lifespan.

We have fitted our own charging station onsite at Beton Bauen, which is used for our fleet vehicles and also by employees. Over the next few years, we intend to replace existing tools and plant equipment (wherever possible) with electric solutions.

WHAT WE DO 
EVERYDAY

Beton Bauen already does a great deal to lessen our carbon footprint. For some years we have operated a recycling process for general waste, consumables, and our business premises currently operate an automatic light system, to avoid energy waste. 

​

Our preferred choice of materials is now 'Carbon Neutral' mortars and grout and Beton Bauen continues to work closely with partners and clients alike to reduce our carbon footprint. 

OUR SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

BETON BAUEN COMPLETE THE FIRST UK 'CARBON NEUTRAL' CONCRETE REPAIR IN THE UK...

Beton Bauen has been appointed to carry out repair works at Mamhilad Park Estate on behalf of Johnsey Estates, using Mapei’s 'carbon free' concrete. It’s the first time the innovative product is being used in the UK.

​

Beton Bauen technicians will be using two tonnes of Mapei’s zero cementitious mortar to repair selected structural defects and spalling to the former British Nylon Spinners factory at Mamhilad Park Estate.
