Newport Norse/Beton Bauen Project Acknowledged at Industry Awards

Beton Bauen receive "Highly Commended" Award at The Concrete Society Awards 2024 for their input on the Newport Schools renovation project, on behalf of Newport Norse.

On 13th November, The Royal Lancaster Hotel (London) played venue for the Concrete Society Awards 2024, hosted by premier sponsor Fosroc. Now in its 56th year, The Concrete Society Annual Awards celebrates excellence in the use of concrete, and attracts over 400 of the industry's professionals. It is the longest running awards in the UK Construction Industry. This years Awards was hosted by comedian Hal Cruttenden, also a highly accomplished writer, presenter and actor. This prestigious awards initiative continues to showcase the use of concrete as a structural, architectural and sustainable material. The nominated entries from the UK were whittled down to 12 shortlisted projects.


Claire Ackerman, chief executive of The Concrete Society, said,

" Once again the judges have been overwhelmed by the high numbers of entries for the competition. The shortlisted projects have all demonstrated unique and interesting uses of concrete, showcasing this most versatile structural and architectural material. My congratulations go to all those projects that have reached this final stage."

Following Beton Bauen being shortlisted for the same project at October's CRA Awards (Manchester), the company were welcome recipients of the CRA Concrete Society "Project of the Year: Highly Commended" Award.


Beton Bauen Newport Norse Schools Renovation Project

CONCRETE REPAIR & CATHODIC PROTECTION PROJECT The ‘Newport Schools Project’ (in conjunction with structural engineers Jubb, and materials manufacturer Fosroc) used Beton Bauen’s comprehensive skill set and technical abilities to deliver a high-quality end product, requiring the seamless coordination of complex repair work for the client (Newport Norse), across several (operating) primary and secondary schools.
